About The Goring
It’s a family affair
The Goring is a family-run hotel, through and through. Not only has it passed down through four generations of Gorings, but many of the staff have been with us for years and we’re grateful to call them family.

Jeremy Goring
CEO
Rumour has it that Jeremy’s first words were ‘please enjoy your stay’. The great-grandson of Otto R. Goring, who founded his eponymous London establishment over a century ago, Jeremy is now the fourth-generation guardian of the family business. A graduate of the Lausanne Hotel School, Jeremy was named Independent Hotelier of the Year in 2012, which he will (still) be quick to tell anyone he meets.

David Morgan-Hewitt
Chairman
He doesn’t do it on purpose, but where David goes, awards follow. The Goring’s much-loved Chairman has been with us since 1990, first as Managing Director before stepping into his current role in 2024. Over the years, he has received the Luxury Travel Advisor ‘General Manager of the Year – Worldwide’, two Cateys for Top Manager and recognition for his Outstanding Contribution to the Hotel Industry. He is President of the Royal Warrant Holders Association – a point of great pride for The Goring, which is the only hotel in the world to have been granted a Royal Warrant for finest services by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

Michael Voigt
Managing Director
Without strong leadership, there can only be chaos. Fortunately, The Goring rests easy under the gimlet eye of its Managing Director, Michael, whose prestigious career in senior management saw him expend his considerable talents at The Connaught before going on to manage the launch of L’Oscar in 2015. Michael also brings his own glimmer of the bucolic to The Goring’s otherwise thoroughly London character, having managed Pennyhill Park and the Four Seasons, Hampshire.

Fernanda Lewis
Housekeeping
It goes without saying that a razor-sharp attention to detail, power to adapt and problem-solving at a moment’s notice are the cornerstones on which truly excellent service is built. And excellent service is the only language The Goring speaks. Fortunately, Executive Housekeeper, Fernanda Lewis can lay claim to these attributes in abundance, balancing an acute acumen for the unpredictable with an irrepressible joie de vivre.

‘Big John’ Andrews
Head Concierge
What Big John doesn’t know about this nation’s capital isn’t worth knowing. As someone who craves the opportunity to share his wealth of insider tips, The Goring’s Head Concierge repeats the same mantra to himself in the mirror every morning: ‘make guests smile’. A member of the esteemed Golden Keys (noted on his lapel), he earned his stripes at The Berkeley and The Lanesborough. Nothing is too much trouble for Big John, although legal requests are always preferred.

Samantha Lopez
Guest Relations Manager
A contented guest is a thing of wonder – and thanks to years working with corporate clients, inflight passengers and every conceivable iteration of human, Samantha’s sixth sense for what people need is second to none. Delivering seamless service for guests at every point of their stay at The Goring since 2015, Samantha’s considerable experience includes The Lanesborough, The Dorchester and Morgan Stanley.

Graham Squire
Executive Chef
It says everything you need to know about Graham that he cut his teeth in the Michelin-starred kitchens of Claridge’s and Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons. His fondness for creating dishes of excellence (and Michelin stars) is matched only by his love of seasonal produce sourced from British farmers and suppliers. Formerly the Head Chef of Michelin-starred Trinity and The Lickford Inn in West Sussex, Graham has been heading up The Goring’s Michelin-starred Dining Room since 2019.

Jeet Chauhan
Director of Food & Beverage
The smooth running of every dining experience at The Goring is thanks to the brilliance of Food & Beverage Director, Jeet, who oversees each aspect with nothing short of perfection. Honing his formidable skills at The Imperial, The Park Hotel and The Oberoi Amarvilas in India, Jeet worked at Jimmy’s Restaurants Limited London and The Savoy London before joining The Goring.

Jean-Baptiste Lemoine
Dining Room Manager
The relationship between chef and sommelier is not one we should even try to understand. Jean-Baptiste enriches the story of each dish created by Chef Graham with impeccably paired wines selected from our cellar. This natural talent for matchmaking was nurtured in Monaco under the mighty Alain Ducasse before Jean-Baptiste joined The Goring in 2015 – and if you ever want to buy him a present/win his favour, his favourite red wine is the Hermitage by Jean Louis Chave.

Footmen at The Goring
At your service
The art of the footman requires a skill set only few possess. Ravishing in red tailcoats and gold-trimmed waistcoats, these masters of impeccable service are the touchpoint for every guest during their stay. Never offer to carry your own bags in their presence unless you wish them to become tearful.

And finally… meet Teddy
The Goring’s most famous member of staff
Despite looking suspiciously like a Shetland pony, Teddy has strong ‘hotel owner’ energy. No one is quite sure what his job actually is but don’t be surprised if you bump into him during your stay. Particularly if you happen to be carrying carrots.
