Sustainability at The Goring
Doing our bit
We are striving to make our operations more sustainable, and are jolly pleased to report that we are now EarthCheck Certified, a rigorous, science-backed process that demonstrates our long-term commitment.

What we’re doing
Well, you did ask
Key areas we’re focussing on include reducing carbon emissions, waste management, water conservation, sustainable food sourcing and improving the sustainability of our supply chain. That includes ambitious targets, aiming to reduce our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 95% by 2030, as well as a 90% reduction in Scope 3 emissions from our supply chain by 2036.
Facts and figures
The nitty gritty
Some of our initiatives include using 100% renewable energy, using environmentally-friendly and B-Corp-certified Delphis cleaning products (also used by our neighbours at Buckingham Palace, so we’re in good company), and sourcing our ingredients locally and seasonally.
Our neighbours
Community matters
We’re rather fond of our neighborhood, and like to get stuck in where we can. That includes supporting local businesses, arranging initiatives such as litter picking, and, most importantly, supporting our charity, Hotel School. Not your typical catering college, Hotel School was launched in 2017 as a collaboration between The Goring and The Passage, teaching core hospitality skills to people affected by homelessness.
