The Queen's Platinum Jubilee

Celebrations in honour of The Queen's historic reign

Along with the rest of the country and the Commonwealth, The Goring is very much looking forward to the celebrations that will take place throughout 2022 to mark Her Majesty The Queen's Platinum Jubilee. This momentous milestone will be an historic moment in the United Kingdom's history as The Queen will be the very first monarch to have reached seventy years of service and the whole country is gearing up for some glorious festivities to mark the unprecedented occasion.

Four days of national celebrations will take place from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th June, along with further celebrations throughout the summer, marking 2022 as the Platinum Jubilee year. Amongst the festivities there will be The Queen’s Birthday Parade - Trooping the Colour - which will take place with over 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians.

Platinum Jubilee Beacons will be lit throughout the United Kingdom and UK Overseas Territories, totalling over 1,500 - a glorious sight it will be, whilst Buckingham Palace will conduct a special ceremony to light the principal beacon.

A Service of Thanksgiving for The Queen’s reign will be held at St Paul's Cathedral, whilst The Derby at Epsom Downs will welcome Her Majesty, along with members of The Royal Family. A Platinum Party at The Palace will also take place to celebrate the Jubilee, as well as a Platinum Jubilee Pageant - plenty of events in the making to mark this extraordinary achievement!

As the closest hotel to Buckingham Palace, The Goring has been a firm Royal favourite for many years. We are very much looking forward to celebrating Her Majesty The Queen throughout 2022 - come and join us!
