David Morgan-Hewitt studied History at Durham before commencing his career in restaurants before being first employed at The Goring as Restaurant Manager, twenty years ago. He was later promoted to the role of Food and Beverage Manager before being made Deputy General Manager in 1993, working closely with George Goring and the then General Manager, William Cowpe. David became General Manager in 2000 before taking the role of Managing Director in 2006.
Away from the hotel David is actively involved in supporting the hospitality industry and various professional organisations, including having been Chairman of the London Food and Beverage Association, President of The Reunion des Gastronomes and Chairman of St Julian's Scholars, having been one of the first to receive a scholarship by the Worshipful Company of Innholders. David is also a Master Innholder and Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality.
David also won the prestigious accolade of Manager of The Year at the Cateys 2010.
