Guarantee Policy
All reservations require a guarantee or deposit in lieu. Methods that are accepted as a guarantee include: credit card, deposit, a pre-approved travel agent or a pre-approved company. Guaranteed reservations are held until 10am the day after scheduled arrival.

Deposit Policy
A deposit may be used as a method of guarantee. The following are accepted deposit methods: wire transfer, bank cheque, company cheque, traveller's cheque or cash.  Deposits are non-refundable.

Payments to The Goring are to be made on the date(s) and in the amounts to be calculated as specified at the time of booking or outlined in contracts made.  If any services under the contract are varied prior to arrival then the payment made will reflect the latest details contained in the written details of The Goring.  
Any additional charges due to The Goring for services provided shall be paid by the Client on presentation of an invoice.
For room reservations made using the advance purchase rate full payment will be taken at the time of booking. This payment is not refundable in the event of any amendment or cancellation.
Cash payment is not accepted for walk in guests - a valid credit or debit card must be swiped through the chip and pin machine and adequate authorisation taken
All walk in and same day booking guests must provide photographic identification on arrival regardless of their nationality

Cancellation and “No Show” Policy
Any room cancellations must be made by 12 noon local time, the day prior to scheduled arrival to avoid a penalty of one night's room charge.  For groups of 5 rooms or more, different cancellation policies may apply, as described in any Group Contract.

Group Policy
For reservations requiring 5 rooms or more please contact our Reservations Manager at the hotel.

Room Availability
Specific rooms cannot be guaranteed.
Reserved rooms are available to the guest from 2pm on the arrival date.
Rooms must be vacated no later than 12noon on the day of departure.  Additional charges will be applied to the guest account for later departures, the hotel may charge 50% of the full published rate of the room for additional use of the room until 6pm, and 100% of the full published rate if after 6pm.

Pet and Guide Dog Policy
Animals are not accepted unless assisting guests with disabilities in which case the animals are accommodated free of charge.

Extra Beds
Extra rollaway beds are available at £60 per night excluding VAT. We are delighted to provide baby cots for children up to two years of age with our compliments.

Meal Plan
All rates are on a Room Only basis unless otherwise stated.

In the public areas of The Goring and some staff areas CCTV is in operation and video recordings may be made. This activity is carried out for security and service reasons for the better management of The Goring and security for all its Clients and staff.  For further information regarding the hotel’s CCTV application should be made to the General Manager.

Online Security
By making your travel purchase on our online booking engine, you are protected by Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, utilized by most popular browsers, including Netscape and Microsoft Explorer. Through encryption, the personal information you enter, including your name, address and credit-card information, is converted into code that is then securely dispatched over the Internet.

Data Protection
Your personal information refers to the data obtained from you in connection with the service provided. Your privacy is important to us and we promise to respect your personal information.
Information is collected lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and we will do our best to ensure that your details are accurate and up-to-date.

We will use your personal information for the following reasons so that we can provide you with a first class service:
•    To confirm, update and improve customer records
•    Identify and inform you of services that may be of interest
•    Analyse and develop a relationship with you

Personal information you supply us with and the information about your use of services will only be used by The Goring, to tell you by letter, telephone or email about services that may be of interest to you. Your personal information will not be disclosed to any third party.

Cookie Usage
Cookies are small amounts of information that are sent to and are stored on your computer. They are used by The Goring to identify you when you visit the site, and to make your use of the site more convenient for you. If you do not wish to have Cookies placed on your computer you can disable Cookies on your Internet browser.

Best Rate Guarantee
It is important to us that the rates we offer directly to our guests are the best possible rates available anywhere. Make your reservation directly with The Goring for the best rate, guaranteed. If within 24 hours of making your reservation you find a lower publically available rate anywhere else online, we will be more than happy to match this lower rate. 

Terms and Conditions
For our Best Rate Guarantee to be valid, it must satisfy all of the terms and conditions listed below:

  1. Reservation must be made directly with The Goring prior to making the claim, either via The Goring website or directly with our reservations team.
  2. The Best Rate Guarantee is applicable against bookable rates for the same length of stay, dates of reservation, room category, number of persons, currency and reservation conditions.
  3. A claim must be submitted within 24 hours after making the direct reservation with The Goring and at least 48 hours before the scheduled arrival.
  4. The Goring reservation department will investigate and inform you of our decision within 24 working* hours of having received your claim. * Claims will be processed from Monday to Friday, between 8am and 8pm
  5. The Goring’s Best Rate Guarantee does not apply to:
    -Hotel packages or travel packages bundles with flights, car hire, tours etc.
    -Discounted rates not available to the general public, e.g. negotiated rates, closed user group offers
    -Taxes, gratuities, service charges or other fees and incidental charges
  6. To proceed with the claim please send us all the following information via email to [email protected]
    -Guest name
    -Reservation Confirmation Number
    -Arrival and Departure dates
    -Website address where you found the lower rate, or details of the travel professional’s quotation
    -If possible a screen grab or print screen of where the lower rate is found

 The Goring reserves the right to modify or cancel this offer and the terms and conditions at any time in its sole discretion.
