The Goring Cocktail Bar

Cocktails: a conversation in a glass

There are cocktails – and then there are Goring cocktails. An explosion of sensational flavour, fresh herbs from our very own garden and a flourish of magical mixing, all poured into a glass laced with the knowledge that you may soon want to be dancing on the table. The Goring Cocktail Bar is where those in the know gather to cheerfully wave their martinis at neighbouring Buckingham Palace and celebrate how clever they are for being patrons of one of London’s most glamorous and best-kept secrets.

Glamour, gardens and gossip

Sink back into a sumptuous armchair and contemplate your surroundings. If it’s winter, the open fire is roaring. In summer, the gardens are bountiful and fragrant. The pianist is playing something gentle and glamorous at the grand piano. Someone is talking about the sheep they found in their bed this morning. Someone else is whispering about what happened when that incredibly famous actress was staying here and… Sipping on something marvellous, you realise you might as well be in some kind of Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn film. Ladies and gentlemen – we give you The Goring Cocktail Bar.

Shaken, stirred and everything in between

Catch the eye of the smart-looking fellow behind the bar and challenge him to make you something outrageous and delicious. Behold, as his eyes light up and he starts flinging bottles around (he might not do that). Watch your glass glow with delight as he fills it with his masterful creation. Take one sip. Lose your mind with joy. Realise nothing will ever taste as good again. Cry a bit at the thought of this – until he makes you another and your heart fills once again. Pledge your life to him. Then order a gin and tonic, because those are excellent too.

What’ll it be next?

Thank You, Your Majesty

An homage to our long-standing relationship with the family next door, The Goring’s signature cocktail is a patriotic blend of raspberry, yuzu syrup, gin and – of course – Champagne. God save the King!

The Devil’s Tea

You really shouldn’t order this, you know. Smoky mezcal, vermouth, wine sherbet and strawberry and mango tea. Very sophisticated. Very strong. Very wicked.

Daylight Robbery

Hang on, is this even legal? Tequila, Mancino Sakura, Cointreau and absinthe wash. Enough to give you the audacious tenacity of a notorious heist mastermind who has long evaded the law.

Same again?

Pimm’s on the lawn? An Old Fashioned by the fireplace? An apéritif or nightcap? Yes, yes and yes. You’re always welcome and we wait, polished glass in hand, to mix you something life-changing.
