Celebration is a way of life at The Goring. Everything has the potential to be a special occasion – a birthday, an engagement, a Wednesday, a divorce (why not?). We need no excuse to fling open the Champagne and toast life, so whatever you’re in the mood to celebrate, we’re here to make it marvellous. 

Dining Room of Dreams

Michelin-starred menus, a cheese trolley, Champagne, a flambé trolley, more Champagne. This is the legendary Dining Room, where monkeys behaving badly are painted all over the walls and you may tailor what you’re served to your exact requirements. Perhaps an intimate anniversary dinner for your beloved (you’re so thoughtful – they’re lucky to be married to you). Perhaps an enthusiastic work lunch (your clients will sign anything after they’ve had our Lobster Omelette). Perhaps a cheerful reunion of your school under-11s netball team (you’re now old enough to upgrade the half-time oranges). Whatever you wish to celebrate, we’re ready for you. 

Gatherings in the Garden Room 

Yes, you DO deserve a boisterous birthday celebration with 80-100 of your closest friends and we’re just the people to host it. The Garden Room not only has the advantage of opening out onto the smartest garden in London (which you can also book for drinks parties while we’re on the subject) but it also has its own bar, inevitably shaking up your favourite cocktail. Your guests can be served canapés or bowl food as they toast your many attributes and if anyone is found asleep in the bushes later, please reassure them they’re not the first and definitely won’t be the last. Everyone feels at home in our gardens. 

Afternoon Tea Traditions

Afternoon Tea is the glue that unites us all. Best friends who eat scones and clotted cream together stay together, as the saying goes. The Veranda is also an excellent venue in which to secure your place as your mother / mother-in-law / grandmother’s favourite by organising a family get-together over tiny cakes and a cold glass of Bollinger. Join the ranks of our guests who celebrate this as a tradition passed down through the generations, this is exactly the kind of vital knowledge that needs to be imparted from elder to younger. 

Drawing Room Dinner Parties

‘We few, we happy few.’ as Shakespeare once said and how your six-to-eight guests will greet each other for the glamorous dinner party you’re hosting in the privacy of the Drawing Room, knowing they are among the elite of your address book. Select dishes from our menus or preorder something bespoke that speaks to your greatest culinary joys. We are also excellent at keeping secrets (honestly, if these walls could talk…) and we live for surprise parties, if you want the night to take an unexpected turn. This is your event and we would be delighted to work with you to ensure it has all the touches and details of an unforgettable experience.
