Coronation Dishes for The Jubilee

The Dining Room looks back in history to celebrate the Jubilee

 

The Dining Room is celebrating the Platinum Jubilee in its own unique way with historic Coronation dishes reintroduced to The Dining Room for another generation to enjoy.  Following the discovery of the very menu that The Goring created for guests in residence for Her Majesty The Queen’s Coronation in 1953, Chef has been inspired to recreate the flavours in our now Michelin-starred restaurant.

Cornet de Saumon Fumé returns as a Smoked John Ross salmon cornet with English wasabi and caviar. The Consommé Double can be found on this year's menu as Chicken consommé, glazed veal sweetbread, morel and broad bean, whilst the Filet de Sole Edinburgh has been updated to Dover sole with garnish “Edinburgh” and seaweed buttered Jersey Royal potatoes. The Parfait aux Fraises Windsor has made a return as a Crown of English strawberry parfait. 

In line with the seasons, these dishes will feature on our menu throughout the summer.
